Park Distance Control

Park Distance Control (PDC) makes it easier to park and manoeuvre in narrow spaces. Ultrasound sensors measure the distance between your car and any nearby object that might hinder it. Having detected an obstacle, your car sounds a warning signal.

This signal changes tone as the gap increases or decreases, enabling drivers to make the best use of every parking opportunity that comes their way. Occupying and leaving parking spaces becomes quicker and easier; scratches and scuffed paintwork become less likely. Drivers of the BMW 5 and 7 Series can also avail of a diagrammatic representation in the Control Display, supplementing the audio warning signal.
